J. Allard says that Microsoft wants to adopt something like the open source model for the Xbox 360 and its games in an article at News.com. The article looks at the games of the future being designed by players. This doesn't mean gamers sitting with devs pounding out code, but rather devs making games that can be dynamic experiences shaped by players while they play. Will Wright (pictured) says it best: "Instead of putting players in the role of Luke Skywalker, or Frodo Baggins, I'd rather put them in the role of George Lucas."
