Major Nelson points to a story over on the "Make it Big in Games" blog that talks through the process of creating a game for Xbox Live Arcade. The site spoke with Jeff Tunnell of Garage Games about the process.
The funny thing is that I talked to Garage Games yesterday about the very same thing. I was asking them about Marble Blast Ultra, which seems to be doing quite well. If memory serves, they told me it took a crew of one to six people about six months to develop the game. Although Ultra is based on their past Marble Blast games, it was built from the ground up.
6 months + 6 people = New Console game.
Wow.
