Microsoft Marketeer John Porcaro has a nice write-up from the Major Nelson interview of David Reid about Xbox 360 backwards compatibility. (Yes, I realize that's an all Msoft crew.) Reid talked about some pretty important BC issues, like how they pick what titles to work on next, why the launch list included some dogs and when we can expect more. He also talked about future Xbox titles and their compatibility with the 360.
In a nutshell, the current list of titles they are working on comes from gamer feedback. The reason some of the crap titles were on the initial list was because they happened to be nearly compatible already and they hope to continue to make future Xbox titles BC. The bad news is that the BC crew is taking a much needed vacation through the beginning of January, so expect a bit of a delay before the next batch of games go backwards compatible.
If you guys are listening, please, please, please make America's Army backwards compatible. I've got a serious addiction to that game right now.
