Reporting from the Shibuya Tsutaya Shopping center in Japan, GameSpot wrote about an Xbox 360 launch where the system sold out in 30 minutes. Great news for Microsoft right? Sort of. Elsewhere in Japan (Osaka), our own Brian Ashcraft found very different results. There were very few people lined up to grab Microsoft's 360 and demand was pretty limited — whereas supply was bountiful. The full spectrum of Xbox 360 sales in Japan was probably somewhere between the sold out fanaticism of the launch party and the ghost town consumerism that Ashcraft ran into in Osaka. Just food for thought, chew on it.
