For a guy that claims to have been born in 1540, Gackt looks pretty good. The Visual Kei singer, songwriter, fashion model, actor, novelist, restaurateur, screenwriter and psychic is lending tunes and his image to the upcoming FF VII: Dirge of Cerberus.
The main theme, "Redemption," will be written and performed by Gackt. No word what character he'll play, but apparently, it's someone important. Fitting as the idol has been credited as the inspiration for the lead character design in Final Fantasy VIII.
This isn't Gackt's first involvement with gaming. The Renaissance man did voice work and motion capture for the PS2 game, Bujingai. Not only did he also star in Japanese TV commercials for Metal Gear Solid 2, his name appeared on a dog-tag in game.
Music? Movies? Books? And PS2 games? Japanese pop stars are so much cooler than American ones.
