Despite the fact that only 10 percent of Xbox owners currently use Xbox Live, Microsoft's Robbie Bach is confident that number will jump to at least 50 percent with the Xbox 360. The spin here is that the Silver Package (which comes with Xbox 360) won't actually let people play on Xbox Live, it simply lets users connect to the Live servers. In order to play on Live consumers must buy the Gold package. So people simply connect to the Silver edition of Live and not necessarily pay for it or play their games online. So this is all just more PR speak?
