Simply put, machinima is making movies using video games. On Nov. 12 at the Museum of the Moving image in Astoria, New York, the 2005 Machinima Awards will be doled out.

With video games, developers are telling their own stories, but now, through machinima filmmakers are telling new stories within the game engine's parameters. The guys over at Red Vs. Blue have made a futuristic M.A.S.H.. Where popular mods for PC games modify the graphics and the experience, machinima allows users to modify and create their own storylines in their own universe.
