I feel a little safer already since those crazy Michigan kids won't be able to get their hands on Mature and Adult Only video games starting Dec. 1.
Gov. Jennifer Granholm signed two bills designed to keep the youth of Michigan protected from violence and sex in video games. A very pleased Granholm released the following via press release:
Making sure that our children are protected is an essential function of government, this new common-sense law is one more tool we can provide to help parents protect their children from the effects of violence and graphic adult content ... The graphic nature and wide availability of these games should disturb all of us, whether or not we are parents I am proud to sign legislation that will protect children from this kind of content.
At least the State of Michigan is stepping up to fill the void left by parents who don't pay attention to what their children are doing, right? Always find the silver lining, folks.
