Gamecloud got a chance to play a little Quake IV Deathmatch at QuakeCon in Texas today. They give it a thumbs-up, but point out that it was really hard to get a detailed impression of the game since they only played a single round on one map.

They say the game has the visual style of Quake II, the multiplayer gameplay of Quake III Arena and the graphics of Doom 3. It sounds like it's going to be a must have shooter that requires an entirely brand new computer to run at anything above a stuttering, choppy mess.
