Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich just canceled today's planned press conference for the signing of his state's new anti-gaming law. The governor had announced yesterday that he was going to be signing the Safe Games Illinois Act into law at noon today.
But I just got off the phone with the governor's press contact who told me it has been postponed indefinetly. He couldn't say why it was postponed or when it will be rescheduled, but did say it won't be happening today.
Here's the rather brief and puzzling statement from his office.
The Safe Games Illinois Act bill signing will be rescheduled. The Governor has no public schedule today.
