The Entertainment Software Rating Board launched an investigation into the hidden sex recently discovered in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
While that in itself is pretty amazing, I'm even more interested in Rockstar's response. The company implies in a prepared statement, that the sex is actually a mod and not an unused part of the game.
We also feel confident that the investigation will uphold the original rating of the game, as the work of the mod community is beyond the scope of either publishers or the ESRB.
An ESRB spokesperson told Reuters that there have been cases where undisclosed content in a video game led to a ratings change. The person declined to comment further, so it's not clear if a ratings change was ever done after a game was out. I wonder if the ESRB can fine? They should be able to.
