Nintendo plans to release a rhythm action game for the DS in Japan this summer. Ouendan looks to be a Pa Rappa The Rappa type game where gamers use their stylus to tap out rhythms, swipe crescents across the screen and spin discs.
A downloadable commercial shows numbered targets popping up on the screen that have to be touched in the right order and tempo, and an assortment of colored meters that have to be swiped. All the touching and swiping happen over this bizarre backdrop while three trench-coated guys perform stylized punches in a sort of martial arts line dance.
I can t understand a friggin word in the commercial, but the announcer sounds pretty damn jazzed so it s gotta be good.
