Sony, always excessively paranoid about hacks, cracks and piracy, has already developed a patch for the Playstation Portable to fix the security flaw found in the Japanese version of the portable. If that weren't bad enough, the patch is foisted upon gamers by making new games unplayable on the unpatched bios.

Unpatched Japanese PSP could effectively run bootlegs, emulators and pirated games.

Space Invaders Pocket will be the first game to require the new bios.
