A new rumor has it that the Playstation 3 will make an appearance at the E3 festivities after all. Computer and Video Games writes that a source told them that Sony will unveil a prototype of their next-generation console and not just a mock up as was expected.

The story goes on to say that the existence of the prototype is such a bit secret that it has been kept off any show program sheets and will be "kept under strict guard by members of the LAPD." That last bit makes we want to say that this is a completely bogus rumor, but I suppose it doesn't take much to hire a few off-duty officers to work security.
