Got a bizarre email from Christian Brothers Investment Services Wednesday. CBIS is apparently some Christian investment group, which manages $3.5 billion in investments. Anyway, they sent me an email with their annual break-down of the top priorities for Catholic investors. Apparently violence in the mainstream media, a brand new topic, just popped up as number six. Meanwhile, the issue of sweatshop labor fell from its perch at the number two spot last year to number eight. So let me get this straight, Catholics are more concerned about violence in video games then they are about some 7-year-old slumping over a pile of Nike shoes? What, does the Pope run a shop in Bangladesh to make those special hats?
